History

MORE THAN 4 DECADES LEADING THE WAY

OUR FOUNDER

Silvio Segnini Mekbel 1939-2018. Visionary and entrepreneur. Born in Guanacaste, starting at a young age with a different ocuppations, he goes to live some years in the United States of America; where he worked in a metalmecanic company, learned English, and was appointed as Honorary Vice Consul of Costa Rica. He got married and his first children were born. He returns to Costa Rica in 1970, and begins to work in a small air cargo company; after some time the company close operations and Mr. Silvio decides to take a risk and starts his own logistics business company. This is how DESACARGA SA was born in 1973

OUR CEO

Mónica Segnini Acosta. She has more than 25 years of experience in the Customs and International Commerce sector. Currently holding a Master in Corporate Taxation, and a Bachelor of Administration, with an emphasis on Customs and International Commerce and a specialism in Public Legislation. She has contributed with her experience to the development of the competitiveness of Costa Rica through the participation in different Boards of Directors of the business sector of the country, such as the Chamber of Commerce of Costa Rica (CCCR), the Promoter of Foreign Trade of Costa Rica (PROCOMER), the Private Competitiveness Council (CPC) and the Presidency of the Chamber of Exporters of Costa Rica (CADEXCO). She has also held the Presidency of the Federation of Chambers of Exporters of Central America (FECAEXCA), promoting the regional exchange of merchandises and the improvement of customs and logistics procedures in the Central American region.
